Our Methods
Healing lives in the body as much as the mind. Our somatic therapy methods help you feel safer within yourself, understand your nervous system, and gently move through stress, trauma, and overwhelm — always at a pace that feels right for you.
Body-Centered Somatic Therapy Methods
Every approach begins with safety, attunement, and your nervous system’s own pace.
Co-Regulating Touch
A gentle, supportive approach that uses safe, intentional touch to help your nervous system settle and rediscover a sense of safety. It can be especially supportive if you carry chronic stress, anxiety, or trauma responses, or find it hard to feel grounded in your body.
Somatic Experiencing
A body-based approach that helps you process stress and trauma by gently noticing physical sensations and patterns of activation. Developed within the framework of Somatic Experiencing International, it helps the body release stored survival energy and return to a calmer, more regulated state.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
A method that blends talk therapy with body awareness to explore how trauma, attachment patterns, and emotions are held physically. Together we notice posture, movement, and sensation — using the body as a doorway to insight, change, and lasting relief.
Trauma Touch Therapy
A gentle, client-centered approach that supports trauma recovery through safe, attuned, consent-based touch. It focuses on helping you rebuild trust with your body, honor your boundaries, and experience a renewed sense of safety and connection.
Additional Somatic Therapy Methods
Alongside these core approaches, your care may include other body-based, relational, and nervous-system-informed methods, depending on what feels most supportive for you. Every session is shaped around your pace, comfort, and healing goals.

Somatic Therapy Methods: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which somatic therapy method is right for me?
You don’t have to figure that out on your own. In a free consultation, we’ll talk through what you’re experiencing and your therapist will suggest the approach — or blend of approaches — that feels most supportive for you.
Do I have to talk about my trauma in detail?
No. These are body-based methods like Somatic Experiencing, so healing doesn’t depend on retelling your story. You share only what feels right, and we always work at a pace your nervous system can handle.
Is therapeutic touch always optional and consent-based?
Yes. Any touch-based work, such as Co-Regulating Touch and Trauma Touch Therapy, is gentle, fully consent-based, and guided by you. You can say “no” or “pause” at any moment, and many clients benefit deeply without any touch at all.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies from person to person. Some clients feel meaningful shifts within a few sessions, while deeper or long-standing patterns may take more time. Your therapist will shape a plan around your goals — schedule a free consultation to talk it through.
Can these methods be combined?
Often, yes. Many clients benefit from blending approaches like Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing, and your therapist will weave them together based on what helps you feel safe and supported.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. We offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can ask questions and see whether we’re the right fit. Feel free to contact us to get started.
