Resiliency Quiz Willie M · January 13, 2021 · Leave a Comment Resilience is a big buzzword all over the place. In its most simple definition, resilience is the ability to effectively bounce back after a challenging experience. From your body's perspective, resilience refers to your nervous system's ability to come back into balance. Your system nervous is made up of two components: the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). The SNS is the part of your system that acts as the accelerator: it puts your body into arousal states so that you can wake up and get out of bed or run away from danger. The PNS is the part of your system that slows you down and brakes: it puts your body into slower states moving toward resting. Balance happens when both parts are operating in harmony with each other. At STP, we focus on increasing resilience and helping clients heal their nervous system from the bottom up and the inside out.
