What is Somatic Therapy?
We believe that eating disorders are the consequence of early, adverse childhood experiences that need to be addressed at the body level.
At Somatic Therapy Partners, we work at the body level with a service called Coregulating Touch. This helps to heal any problems in your nervous system caused by early adverse childhood experiences.
Sound a bit complicated? Something we are really good at here at Somatic Therapy Partners is providing you with everything you need to understand your nervous system, including concrete tools, mindset shifts, and practices that support less stress and more ease.
Talk-based, cognitive approaches are hugely important. BUT when on their own, they can be extremely limiting in the healing process. A great deal of research suggests that including the body in therapy leads to more beneficial outcomes. And that is where we can help.
